which speedo-cable?

Ok guys, '74 C6 tranny matched to the original '67 instrument cluster. What speedo cable do I buy? I bought the one autozone said I needed, but it doesn't have the machined end on it to go into my tranny with that lil plastic gear. which cable do i need? thanks guys!

This one worked on my '71. part no. CA3010 from o'reilly's.

ok that worked out well! But now this part.....where can I get one of those plastic gear drives for the end of this cable for a C6 auto? Thanks!

aren't they generic? for auto and manual both?

dealer..got the #'s at the house. Let me know what the gear ratio is & i can get the # you need

Thanks for the help Fitzwell, but I already ordered a few from Dennis Carpenter. The CA-3010 was correct, so thanks guys on that one.

Hey BillyBobJunky, did ya ever get it figured out. I too will be looking for this for my 68 with a 74 c6.

How do you know wich plastic gear you need? My speedo is off about 10 mph give or take.

you count the number of teeth the gear has on it. then you either add or subtract the number of teeth to get you speedo correct. the people who sell the gears can tell you which gear is right if you tell them how much you are off and which way its off either fast or slow 10 mph
