so...

Post by cooltoolguy »

after a little trek with my friend to a 4x4 place 2 hrs from home we stopped at a little salavge yard on rt57. after talking trucks for three hours with the owner we settled on some items. got the front suspension from a 77 f350 dually from the rotors to the master cylinder and eveything between for a 150.00. and he will remove it. rear 11 leaf springs with 5 leaf helpers including perches for 50 per side, and 2 oem rust free driver side fenders and a rear sliding window thrown in. not a bad deal just need to go pick up next week. :D BTW this guy took 2 48 fords and cut em up to make a super cab with an 8ft stepside bed mounted on a 79 f350 dually frame. the hood opens normal, then the front clip slides forward 6 inches and then flips open. Its pretty wicked looking!!

Are those fenders from the '77 or our vintage? Do you want to get rid of one? Does this guy have anything else? Maybe CHEAP one piece dually wheels?

I'll try to see if I can get a couple of the 48 ford pics, Paul (owner) had a large brain tumor removed 6 months ago and he had not been able to do much work to the truck, but it now sits in primer waiting for the 460 to go in. The truck is at his house tho, I only saw his well documented photo album. But I willtry. YOU have to see this thing. open the hood, grab the front bumper and pull 6 inchs forward which then pulls the grill and front fenders away from the cowl. then lift and there it is.. a tilt nose! now how about my 72? nah
Flatbed: he has rims, used and new. new are 85.00 a piece, I dont now what he wants for used.
