Posi ID

Post by mrsnicks »

How can you tell if you have a posi hogshead after the hogshead/pumpkin has been removed from the rear end? I'm pretty sure I have one.. but I have a couple lying around. How do I tell the posi/limited slip from the open??

Thanks,
Patrick

Quickest way to tell a posi from a non-posi 9". The ring of bolts on a posi will be countersunk, where as the ones on a non-posi will stick out from the surface.

here's a good page for 9" info, http://www.kevinstang.com/Ninecase.htm

Heres a couple pics, the first being a NON-posi. This is the surface that is to the passenger side when installed, looking from the pinion yoke back it will be on your left.
