'72 steering buckles sometimes

Post by krogge »

Got a 72 F100. At times steering catches/buckles. The entire steering column moves up and down (about 1/2 inch) when it happens. Anything I should check that might cause this?? :) :)

Ouch, check for cracks in the frame, around the bolt holes for the steering box. I had a highly abused 76 parts truck which cracked there, but it is not a common failure.
