Lug Nut Thread Specs

Post by FloridaFordGuy »

I bought a new set of wheels for my '70 250 4x4, and am looking for new lug nuts to go with them. Does anyone know the specifics on the thread / width requirements so I can go shopping?

Thanks!

Not sure about 4X4's? but here are a couple threads that talk about lug size and threads:

Awesome! My stroll through the internet suggested the same thing. Plus, the person who responded to that second thread you noted has a '70 4x4 as well, so I'm guessing he knows!

Thanks for the hand!

Whichever ones you need, I bet Dorman makes 'em. If you go to the link below, you can download either a PDF or an Excel sheet that lists all their wheel studs and their properties (length, thread, knurl diameter, etc.) which makes finding the right part number a snap. The Excel sheet in particular is really handy. Same goes for lug nuts as well. Once you find the right part number you can punch it into pretty much any parts store website (including rockauto) as the base part number for these is usually a Dorman PN.

Hope this helps
