Does anyone have some good photographs of the stock horn wiring under the hood (relay, horn, solenoid, etc.)? I understand the wiring diagrams, but there has been some creativity exercised on that area of my wiring through the years, so wire colors and routing and such are not always as easy to match up to the diagrams as one might hope.
I'm not in a huge hurry, but I'd like to get the horn working as part of the steering column project I'm currently in the middle of.

Thanks, that's super helpful! I don't know how I missed it when I was searching yesterday.
I'd love to see more if anyone has some handy

Re: Horn Wiring Pictures
Maybe these can help a little, the first one is the 1968 horn wiring diagram (with colors in lower right corner), the 2nd thread has a picture of the alternator harness that has some of the hook ups for the voltage regulator etc.

EDIT: here is a youtube from Autorestomod that talks about horns on an F100, it shows some pictures of the wiring: https://youtube.com/watch?v=QCybUPR4iog
Hope these help! I'll keep looking

These are all great. Thanks!
Looking at all these pictures and diagrams also reminds me that I should probably do something about that fuseable link

Re: Horn Wiring Pictures
I thought my wiring was pretty much stock with the exception of a few splices here and there, but what I have doesn't quite match up with any pictures or diagrams I can find. With some educated guesses and a multimeter, I did manage to get the horn working (well, electricity is going to the right places, anyhow) and wired up more cleanly than it was, but I'm still stumped on a couple of things:
1. I seem to be missing circuit 4. It's supposed to be a white wire with a black stripe running from the alternator to the voltage regulator.
2. I have no idea what the red wire in the picture is for. It's hot when the ignition is on; that's all I know.
How important are either or both of these? Circuit 4 hasn't been there since I've owned the truck and I've never had any electrical problems, but if it's important, I'll do something about it. I've just got that red wire taped up for now.

You may have seen all these before, but just in case here they are. You can click on the image to enlarge them. This thread has a link to alternator wiring pictures, and another diagram: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =8&t=53439

Re: Horn Wiring Pictures
Thanks, I had never seen the picture in that thread you posted.
The others I've got saved and even printed out a couple of copies.
Unfortunately, none of that matches up to what I've got going on under the hood. Running a wire from the alternator to the regulator wouldn't be too much trouble, but it's been working fine since I've had the truck, so it's going to be a pretty low priority unless someone tells me it's a ticking timebomb for some reason. I'll leave that red one alone for now and maybe use it for an accessory or something someday.
