Crazy that you didn’t have snow yet on Dec5th in Ft. Mac! Digging this build, and absolutely love your garage!Snot Rocket wrote:Last drive of the season. Goes under the knife this winter. BIG plans!
You mentioned “going under the knife”...curious...Sounds a bit more involved that a wheel and rear end swap...

Tires came in. Decided on 305/35ZR19 Nittos.
JR_North is starting off with a positive reputation.
Put one of the fronts together. Tons of room with a 275/35ZR19. My truck also doubles as a drying rack for my kids hockey gear. Lol

My brother came to visit over Christmas and has been helping me. Awesome to have an extra set of hands. We got the box off and started marking out the cuts. Short bed time!

The sawsall worked perfect but we did bend up a few blades. We got most of it finished tacking, but we ran out of argon and flux core wire. I’m happy with what we got done today.
Rear cut marked out.
Sometimes the right tools can make such a huge difference. These little guys hold the metal together while you weld it then you can pull the tool out. 4 of them are less than $20 at KMS tools.
Cleaning up the edges, getting ready to weld.

Nice work! I'm guessing the frame will need to be done the same way? Lots of work to get the short box for sure...keep it up!

Got the frame cut. Only tacked back together for now as we ran out of argon again. Had to drop the bed on to see how it looks.
