So since I could not find any local help or someone willing to tackle the for and be paid for it in the Northern VA area. I decided to tackle this myself, and or course with the help of this forum. So I located a IFS from a 2005 and the guy has already removed if form the car. Only thing is that the rack pinion is missing. He sold it before I contacted. He only wants $70 for it. Do guys think its a big deal that rack is missing. I am thinking that I can grab one for cheap from a pick and pull

Even if you spend a couple hundred for the rack and pinion assembly it's still a good deal.

Sounds interesting. How many choices do you have for the engine with that setup? :)

anything you want. usualy Egmfcliff (or something like that) would have chimed in by now. he has a 460 in his with a CV IFS. ive seen diesels, the 4.6 and 5.4 engines bolt right up (vics come with a 4.6 from the factory, 5.4 uses the same mounts. for other engines, as long as you can figure out how to build your mounts, you can put it in. I'm planning a 6.8L triton v10 in my stepside when i have the money and time to.

theres the link to the thread with the measurements, thanks to "flyboy71". its on page 2. they helped me a TON as i didnt keep the front end sheet metal or the cab in place on my truck when i was doing this. (had to repair a cab mount and do some frame repair at the same time)

71Fordkid what is the minium that you need to remove to complete this conversion. Is it just the engine?

not even the engine. you just suspend the engine with a cherry picker or something, remove the motor mounts, and cut the crossmember out. its a bit more of a pain in the arse, but you can do it.
