Brazilian F1000 pickup truck

Post by Hiroshi »

Hello, my name is Hiroshi, I'm from Brazil...

I want to show you my F1000. Not 67-72 ...it was built in 1981, but it is pretty much the same model as american 70, except for the powertrain and instrument panel, similar to F600 I guess.
Engine is Diesel powered, MWM 229.

I noticed that the lower body lower side molding is slightly different from the USA model.

Wheels on these pics aren't stock, neither the doors mirrors and seat cover. Everything else is.

Next week I'll send it to the body shop repair, new painting..not sure about the color yet. Any suggestions? :D

Have to say, I find your F1000 with a diesel to be a pretty sexy truck.

Yes she is. Can i say "she"? I know some people call "she" for guitars. lol

Are you donating the front grille to your friend?

I like the white bumper and the white grille with red!

"She" works LOL. I'm donating the entire truck to my friend, less the radiator, rear trim, radio and tailgate.

Not that I recall. So your F-1000, is it basically an F 100 with a diesel and an F 600 instrument cluster or are there other cool things?

Somewhere here on Fordification there is a very detailed section Keith started that has listed all the differences. The same thread also has literally hundreds of pictures in it of the F1000 model as well as links to the Brazil parts resources for the same!
But dang if I can find it with the search feature not working as is used to... :hw:

Nice!

How common are these in Brazil? I'd love to get my hands on one.

This year with this front grille and body molding, they arent common.
Later models with 4 headlights are very common.

The reason is because they replaced the beautiful aluminum grille for the horrible plastic with 4 headlights
