Andy, it wasn't my business, I wasn't a Moderator at the time and honestly I'm not too sure on the details. I remember guys were waiting on either ordering or recieving harnesses and Paul vanished for a bit, presonal issues overwhelmed him. Tried to find the original thread on a web archive but wasn't able to. The forum self purged because that harness sale thread wasn't stickied.

Pauls business plan was flawed, he took deposits on harnesses so he could go out and buy the materials to make them. At his cost point I don't think he wasn't making much profit for the effort required. Common sense says never sell something you don't have available to mail out. So where is Paul? Does he even have the materials to make this batch of harnesses? What did he do with the deposit? Questions I can't answer...

Like Woods said, it's not a difficult process to order batches of materials, set of a nailboard to run the wiring and make a couple each evening. As long as you have the materials it can be done as a hobby.

i have not received my harness. i really would like to hope that i will someday, because the last one i bought from him was first class. i don't like to think people, people that i have talked to quite a bit and thought i knew (as much as one can know someone on a forum like this) could or would do something malicious like this. i hope that he had a momentary lapse of judgement and that he will take a minute, think this through, and then make it right. i would have some respect for that. we all f'up once in a while. i guess time will tell. btw, i cannot file a dispute with paypal either because i sent the money as a gift as well. i may try some direct contact with paypal and see if something can be done.

You guys need to remember that this is an open forum and anyone can read what is posted.

In my opinion, if you want to have any chance of getting anything done about this two things need to happen like yesterday:
  1. Someone needs to step up and say "I'll handle this e-mail me".
  2. Everyone needs to quit posting their next move.
I'm sure Jennifer would appreciate not getting 500 PM's/e-mails too.

Oh and everyone needs to read robroy's and 70_F100's post.

I really appreciate that we are finally having a real discussion about Bill W's dilemna...

bill W has already stepped up, at the front end of this thread pleaded for members to PM him and, offered to spearhead the effort. He was ignored. To this moment very, very few have reached back to Bill W. I whole heartedly endorse your position of support for Bill W. I know that he has been waiting for others here to reach back to him..

Robert, thank you.
Andy thank you.
Chris, i'm glad you still have a positive attitude. i am trying to have one myself, if for some reason we all get our headlight harness next week i will be happy that paul did not let us down and i will personally come here and say what an ass i have been for acting to soon on this deal. i understand having problems in life and if thats what's happening Paul please let us know! BUT! that is the one thing missing here is any feedback from Paul and that does not sit right with me.

Here's a little reprise to my only post in this thread; As I said, I hate to toss someone under the proverbial bus without first hearing their perspective. Sure, those of us that have had acceptable dealings with Paul have chimed in in his defense. We've expressed dismay regarding his current behavior. For those of us that have had pleasurable dealings with Paul, it's clearly out of character for him to act this way. As I said, some of us are aware of his financial/personal issues of the past. We do not know what's happening to him now to cause this behavior. If, in fact, he does step up after reading this mostly negative thread about him and make good on his transactions then I will have all the more respect for him for owning up and making good while under the microscope. Also, as I said, if he is out to cheat and deceive then he needs his ass kicked. I don't believe he is. It's hard for me to believe that a deceitful guy would put that much effort into making a quality headlight harness and offer such quality at a reasonable price. I would like to see good come out of this.

Sorry for the delay in responding to this, guys. I did see the posts a couple days ago where folks were starting to wonder where Paul was, and I read where several were going to send e-mails and/or PM's, so I figured I'd just monitor the situation and see what happened. After I read Bill's post today about Paul's response to the local PD stopping by, I figured it was high time to weigh in and see what I can do.

This whole deal really disturbs me. :x I received a harness from him several years ago (also still uninstalled, since I had to put my project truck into storage right after I received it), and I was impressed with it. He's been a member for quite some time and never gave me much to be concerned about. However, if he's received the number of e-mails and PM's over the past month or so that I think he's gotten from forum members, and he's chosen to not respond to any of them, knowing full well that he had a monetary and moral commitment to fulfill to them, then something needs to be done. I'm not sure what I can do right now, but I'm damned sure gonna try.

First of all, I need for anyone who has sent Paul Murphy money for wiring harnesses that haven't been delivered, or who has purchased his raffle tickets and/or made contributions towards ScreaminZ's wife, to please PM me. Give me your real name and address (I will not reveal this online), how much money you sent, and whether it was for harnesses or ScreaminZ's fund. We need to get as accurate a tally as possible, since this info will probably become relevant in the near future. In the meantime, if you have addresses and/or phone numbers for him, please forward those to me as well. I already have his Hotmail and Comcast e-mail addresses...I'll be sending a note to him at both addresses myself this evening and see if maybe I can get him to respond to me.

At this point, all I can say to those who have been duped by him...I'm sorry! I've always been extremely impressed with the professionalism that 99.9% of the other members have shown to each other in their parts dealings. I can safely say that there have been literally thousands of successful transactions for the years here...it's a shame that one bad apple could cause the problems here that he has, which could very well have negative consequences to the others who sell their parts through the site. However, one is one too many....it's completely unacceptable! :nono:

Other forums have tracked down their bad apples...and I think it's time we do the same here.

Guys I would like to say I am sorry but I had talked to Paul about screamingz after his death, and at that time Paul said that he had built a harness for z and did not know what to do with it. I told Paul in a PM that I thought it would be a nice thing to do for z's wife to do a raffle or something like that to give her a little something at her time of need. With our emails it seemed like Paul was a good guy trying to do the right thing. Again I am sorry for any thing I suggested to end up causing heartache or loss of money to the members on this site.

Ahh, I see
Gentlemen, since we do not have access to Paul at this moment, I suggest that we now direct our focus to Greg, Paul's accomplice....
