He got me for a harness and 4 raffle tickets. I would have to think he hosed ScreaminZ`s wife too. Has anyone been able to check that? It doesn`t get any lower than that.

Jamie, it is helpful that you stepped up, gave an opinion, an filled in some past, slippery history...

Before your post, I kinda fealt like wtf, looks like I got caught under a black cloud, I.ll just move on....

Now I am pissed off, and not only with Paul. When others questioned his reliability, voices chimed uo with oh he is a good guy, does quality work, you will not be disappointed and so on...No word of caution and no pointer to that last go around thread,,,which is where? I cannot find it.

My own personal opinion:

The best way to handle this is for someone to take the point and collect the information from everyone to pursue the matter. If that someone happens to have some experience in legal matters (Law Enforcement or Lawyering) that is all that much better.

We had something similar (a group buy) happen on another board (it was a lot more people and a lot more money) and it took over a year to resolve. A member took the point and put much time into it but it worked out in the end.

I tried filing with paypal for the raffle tickets but I can`t because I followed his request to send it as a gift and they only dispute goods and services. That`s a real slick move. My $75 payment for the harness was over 2 months ago so they wont dispute that. Live and learn I guess, but i`m not done going after my money. I did send a pm to a moderator about this on aug.3 hoping he could get something going because paul was supposed to give the site $10 for each harness sold.

Well, I am one of the people that chimed in that Paul made a good product, and was trustworthy. I am sorry that I was wrong (from the looks of it), but I was speaking from my experience as I had bought a headlight harness from him last go-around, and have purchased truck parts from him on 2 other occasions. There was no reason to be cautious that I knew of, and I knew of no previous problems regarding anyone buying from him. I know there was a situation where he was going through a divorce and having money problems, but that was what caused him to sell a lot of things which was where 2 of my purchases came from. I never saw any previous time that there was anything questionable by him, and had I seen anything, I would NOT have chimed in about what I believed his character to be.

That being said, I still feel bad for standing behind him and apologize for that, but the fact is that Paul is the one that did this and did it alone. None of the rest of us knew anything about this and to be upset with all of us for the actions of one, well, that is not really fair... But I understand the frustration of being ripped off as I have been in that same position. I just ask that you think about where your anger actually should be directed. The people you are calling out had absolutely no way of knowing he was going to pull this...

Rich, I am with you on that, and that is really how I got sucked into this. I am always a bit hesitant to participate in such things, but there are members here that defended him and understandibly so. Perhaps that was part of his plan and with Gene's passing, he saw his opportunity to make a clean sweep and get out.

It is a sad turn of events, but the part that angers me the most was appealing to the generosity of others to screw them over and the family of the brother who passed.

Bill W. I am on board with you and will offer any assistance you need. Also, I realize that I have jumped to conclusions a bit about if Jennifer got any of the money from the fund raiser. I am going to stop assuming and PM her.

I don't feel Paul had criminal intent, just allowed 'life' to overwhelm him and took the easy way out when things looked hopeless. Those that supported him supported the true Paul, sadly his spirit has wavered and here we are.

Support before condemnation, hopefully we can salvage this.

Rich, maybe my choice of words were not clear enough. So, let me try again. I, in no way, blame anyone other than Paul for what Paul has done. OK? What I am now pissed off about is that a member of this forum has acted "badly" in the past concerning money and, that info does not seem to be there for the newcomers to view. Nor did anyone speak up, who had knowledge of this past shady behavior . Most everyone here is really friendly and ready to help out in any way, asking nothing in return. I actually was not pissed at all until I was made aware that Paul had done this before, right here. Up to that point I was only irritated. So, we need not just to be kind to each other, we also need to look out for each other. Looks like that may not have happened here.

I, Andy Man, will live a wonderful life with or without Paul's harness. For me, this is hardly a ripple in the pond. But, if I had a much longer history here and had known about Paul's past dealings; I would have opened my yap about it. That was not a small amount of money to some...

If the shoe fits, most likely, you already wear it...

And I don't know of any past questionable history with Paul. Had I known (I must have missed where this was mentioned?), I would not have purchased from him in the past when I did. So I am blind to whatever it is that may have happened previously.
