New tires finally showed up.
They are 9.00x16s Im really excited they are great looking tires. Im not a hundred percent sure they will fit however. I hope so other wise maybe a two inch lift?? Anyone ever used this size in stock application? They are co-op Grip Spurs if anyone was curious.

Re: New tires finally showed up.
I did a little searching and everything I see puts the diameter at 33.5- 34.5". As skinny asthey are they will probably be fine as long as your springs aren't sagging, and assuming they are going on one of the F250's in your sig...

Re: New tires finally showed up.
Yeah id like to put them on my 72 f250. The truck sits a lil tail high. I rolled one out to the truck and the rears seemed like theres plenty of room. I think im just gunna have to test fit the front. ill put them on, take a few pictures then put the goodyear duratracs back on. These tires are kinda hard to get so i may store them in the garage for when I want/need them. like a winter set of tires. They have this great "vintage" look to them. I got turned onto these from Northerndave's post about his truck.

Re: New tires finally showed up.
Looks like they're about the size of a 35. I didnt look it up but reading Joe's post, i'd say you're safe.
A stock highboy should have no issues fitting 35's. Although, they look much better with a 2" lift IMO.

Re: New tires finally showed up.
I read on another forum that they measured 34" installed. As skinny as they are you shouldn't have any trouble. Don't know how accurate it is, but the guy was also saying that the tire is designed to clean well at low tire speeds. He was saying that a lot of farmers use them for going through muddy fields at a slow pace, kinda like a tractor tire.
I definetly dig the looks! They would look really cool on a set of factory steel wheels. You mind me askin what they set you back?

Re: New tires finally showed up.
Yeah, these were supposed to be really popular in the 70s. From what I can gather they stopped making these a lil over a year ago. I called about 7 different state co-op stores and they all said i was SOL. These were supposed to be superseded to the STA super lug. I finally found one store in colorado that had ONE set left.they are a tubless bias ply tire. They ended setting me back 190 per tire then 60 a pop to ship them to CA. But I agree, these cleaned up ( you can see the dust on them from sitting) on a stock set of steel rims I think would look awesome.
A 2inch lift may not be a bad idea. Its not to high to be impractical but a lil lift to make it practical doesnt sound like a bad idea. who makes a decent kit? 2 inch isnt enought to require drive line mods or steering/brake line mods is it?

Those are some neat old school off road tires! If I had a highboy, I'd definitely want something like that. Can't wait t see them mounted. Nice find.

I used to run L-78 Co-op Grip Spurs on my old Bronco. They sure do go anywhere but in the cold weather they would beat you up till they got warmed up. I wish they made them in a radial,id get another set.
