Your dream bumpside...
If you had unlimited room, money and permission from your wife, what kind of truck would you have?
I have my grandpa's 1969 SWB stocker which I will never hot rod, but...
If I had room for another, it would be a 1969 SWB flareside that I might try splicing an extra cab onto to make an extended cab, independent front suspension, power window kit, later model seat with headrests, air conditioning, auto trans, power steering and some kind of crate motor with more power and better fuel economy.
I'd probably paint it some retro color like seafoam green and run whitewalls with dogdish hubcaps on it.
I like what this guy did with his Cameo (although the purist in me wishes he had modified a less-rare model.)

Re: Your dream bumpside...
Here is my problem. I am working with my grandads pickup . My goal is to make it what i want but keep it looking like my grandads old pickup. When it comes time for paint it will go back the same colors and get the chrome put back on. At some point it will get the Crown Vic front and Explorer rear so i can run the tires and wheels i want. Its been a hot rod since about 73 and it will probably always be one.

Why not. I can dream cant I ?
1970-1972 F-250 4x4 crew.
P/S, P/B, A/C,
D60's, 3:50's, Cummins powered, I would be happy with a NV5600 or similar tranny.
Lifted up just enough to run 37's under it.
Red with white top tu-tone, Ranger XLT trim.
M/T classic II's with 37/13.50 IROK's
90's era seats & seat belts for a cushy ride.
Modern Sound system
20% tint all around
Personal tag will read "MYCREW"
brandon.k I feel your pain. I cant do anything major to my truck for fear of "ruining" it. Everything I do (less appearance) has to be done covert & it has to look like it left the factory that way

Re: Your dream bumpside...
I'd build the world's only and first bullet-proof bump. I could drive across the shootin range and have people shoot my truck up and not be harmed.
Just kidding. I'd like to have a stock highboy oneday, 70-72 model. I'd also have a whole field of trucks, mostly old Fords.

Re: Your dream bumpside...
Unlimited time & $$$
sorry, but it'd be a 76-77 supercab. Icebox white, grey interior. 5.4 with a lung. Lowered to the point of not useful as a truck. American CP 200s wheels, and enough sound system to push Keith Frank 3 blocks over.
And then i woke up..
I 'm about to start on mine.. 68 shortbed,72 grill. crown vic front, explorer disco brake rear. Vanilla shake over Hugger Orange. Tan interior. Same cp 200s wheels, Injected 351w& E4OD F-600 cluster, welded dash, relocated fuel tank, the usual mods....

Re: Your dream bumpside...
It would be my two crews restored 100% with a few additions in the engine and drivetrain departments. But everything would be as if it were added from the accessories catalog from the dealer or from the aftermarket from when the trucks were new. No visible late model parts.

My dream bump would be a 1968 F100 flareside with a rebuild souped up 360 with toploader 4 speed, Raven black.

Black on black 67 hi-boy 4x4, big block built for towing, not overly lifted.

Re: Your dream bumpside...
I still think I'd avoid a '67. If time and money are unlimited, but you're struck by the curse of the '67, your resources are no longer unlimited.

Re: Your dream bumpside...
I would like my 71 with everything I have on it now but in perfect condition and with AC. I would then like to have an exact replica, same options and color but in 4 wheel drive. Drive one one day and the other the next. People would be all confused around here. IF money were not an option I would then have a 71 Bronco the same color and then a 71 Maverick Grabber in Grabber Green. Beter stop there I guess.
