390 heads on a 360

Would i have any problem with 390 heads on a 360. I know a dodge 318 with 360 heads knock off the compression./

They are the very same heads.

(So, no you won't have a problem provided you stay within the year, application and port configurations)

Somebody told me the 360 was weak on the top end.

the only difference between a 360 and 390 is crank, rods, and pistons.
oh, and the sticker on the valve cover :wink:

360 was/is/are low compression...not quite the same thing.

Yes you are correct and to add to that, the low compression has nothing to do with the heads. As already noted, all regular FE engines (352, 390, 410 and even the standard 428) usd the same heads in a given year. That is to say a 67 352 and a 67 428 will both have a C7AE-A heads or a 69 360 and 390 will both have the same C8AE-H heads. Hawkrod

"Top end" as in higher RPM HP. 360's are a low RPM torque engine for towing and working hard, like a 300 I6.

Mopars are completely different than FE fords.
