Motorcraft 2100. Cheap, easy to rebuild, easy to tune (and stays tuned, unlike a Holley).

If you know how to tune Holley's you will have no problem with them. I have a Holley 500 CFM 2V i got from a member here and i rebuilt it and my bone stock 360 runs like a top. It is like night and day. I also rebuilt the Autolite which is an easy rebuild but the Holley is just as easy to rebuild and runs so much better. I'd go with the Holley.Redcap wrote:Motorcraft 2100. Re: 68 FORD F250 CARBURETOR ?
Yea id stick with a 500, man i gotr a 650 which is way to much for my small block . I have a book that recommends the cfm, let me check. Depending on what your using it for, you wont be running much over 5000 rpm much. So Id say a 500, holley 500 sounds good. If you know how to tune them, they are very strong.

I've had Holleys and I can tune them. Problem is, you (usually)have to fiddle with them a hell of a lot sooner than an Autolite or Carter (Edelbrock). I don't care for them in the slightest.sideoilerfe wrote:If you know how to tune Holley's you will have no problem with them. Then you're doing something wrong. My Holley's run like clockwork. I never have to adjust them. Autolites are usually too lean and they don't make larger jets for them. To richen them up you have to drill them out. You don't have to like them. Johnnys147 was asking for advice on 350 or 500 CFM and we assumed he was talking about 2Vs. I think the Autolites are 350 CFM and they're too lean. My 500 2V Holley fixed all the problems. To each his own.Redcap wrote:

Put me down for the 500 Holley. (Also assuming we are talking 2V's)

Re: 68 FORD F250 CARBURETOR ?
I had a Holley 500 CFM on my truck for several years before I changed to a four barrel manifold and carb, never had a bit of trouble with the 500. It even had a hand choke which I really didn't need very often. It is the front half of the Holley 750-780 carb.

Re: 68 FORD F250 CARBURETOR ?
My vote is for the holley 500 cfm as well. You didn't state if you're truck is 2X4 or 4X4. For 4X4 or off road use(side hilling and hill climbing) get one with the center hung float or convert it to center hung float.
