The Corners inside the Cab???

Postby Ks Highboy on Fri Nov 06, 2009 7:07 pm

Just curious what some have done with the area in the cab corners, the area behind the doors. Almost seems like Ford should have used a panel here. Any ideas?

a truck with bucket seats did have something that went over the gas tank to hide it. i dont know if it hide the corner area or not. you could put soem carpet over the area with anice trim on top to hide the carpet edge.

Bondo aint gonna cover that hole. lol I have been trying to think of a nice way to fill up that hole myself. I bet it contributes to the road noise in the cab a good bit.  I am sure it could be filled up with some sound deadening and then covered up with carpet or something else pretty easily.
Once I decide if I am going to replace the cab in my 71 F100 with my spare cab or just fix the stock one I will finish the sould deadening in the floor and the areas we are talking about.

That's just a single picture I saved several years ago from an E-bay listing, I believe. I just thought it was a good idea and saved if for reference material.

That does look nice! I have thought about cutting  out some panels out of some headliner type material and bending them to fit in the corners and attaching them with some trim screws. Just a thought.

That is nice but I still have a gas tank back there. Just never saw enough reason for me to move it. Might some day if I ever go with buckets but don't see it happening.

Subwoofers?
Some 8inchers might fit. Set them up for low frequencies only to get a little bump in the bump. Good spot to "rattle the can" ;)
