Can anyone tell me how to check the primary resistance of my coil??
Thanks

Re: Primary resistance On a Coil
point's ignition? Primary in Ohm's 40-54. Secondary in Ohm's 8000-8800. Just get a new coil. They arc inside
when they get hot, even if they test ok. Primary, hook your test meter to the little terminals.

Re: Primary resistance On a Coil
The reason i was asking id for an aftermarket electronic distributor that said do not use with a primary coil resistance of over 1.5 ohms!! I did some more research after i posted and found that that is achieved by just using an ohm meter from the positive to the negative terminals on the coil!!! Mine was 1.2 ohms so im good and the truck runs alot better now!!!
