Front dana 44 & Dana 60

Post by heep70 »

So while I am waiting to be OK'ED to post on the dent side forum I thought I would pick your noodle baskets.

What year span of 3/4 or 1 ton Ford truck Dana 44 or Dana 60 front axles are a direct bolt in into a 73 dent 3/4 4X4?

Thanks

Since you are talking about a dent side you'd be better off asking on fordification.net (I believe) although I'm sure there is someone on here who will know.

Well, you can go way back to 67 I believe, maybe 65, but I would look for a 76-79 so you can have disc brakes.

Roughly 65-75 will be a no questions asked bolt in. The 77.5-79 high pinion open knuckle axles will be the most desirable but they require a new master cylinder, proportioning valve, the pitman arm off of a 76 or 77 truck, and potentially a remount of the drivers side shock tower. The 73 should should be almost identical to your 71 as far as chassis goes
