No Power

Post by lennyp »

Battery reads 12.08 volts. Loaded tested battery volts dropped to 11. Truck has no power. No lights, starter solenoid doesn't click, no dome light. Have changed ignition switch but still no power. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the 2 wires on the battery side of the solenoid. The one that the yellow wire from the voltage regulator splices into the black wire from the BAT terminal of the alternator. And the black with yellow stripe that comes from the 2 prong plug that leads to the headlight switch. I had an intermittent problem that drove me nuts. Then when changing the solenoid, the 2nd time, the wire just fell out of the ring terminal on the black wire. Crimped on a new terminal and all was well.
