AM/FM Radio Replacement

Post by benm78 »

I have a 1968 F100 which came from the factory with only an AM radio.

I am looking for a factory AM/FM unit. Did they offer FM in 1968 in the F100? If so, any idea what the part number is for the radio that I am looking for?

As far as interchangeability, what other years will fit into my truck with a semaless integration? I want this to look factory.

Thanks!

According to the Truck ID link at the top of the page, FM wasn't available until 1971.

Yes '71 is the first year and it is a direct install into your '68. Only the '67 has a different opening than the rest. The '67 is narrower than the '68 to '72's. Good luck finding a good one, there isn't too many around and the good ones are expensive. :D
