Door disassembly how-to

Post by jingo »

I saw a great how to for taking a door apart down to just the shell, but for the life of me I can’t find it again. Can anyone point me to this, perhaps it’s on the ‘other’ site? Thanks.

It's in the tech section in the body and paint topics http://www.fordification.com/tech/doors01.htm

Does anyone have a source for the trim clips shown in Figure 06 of the door disassembly how-to? These are the clips to fasten the 2 piece chrome trim ring that surrounds the door panel inserts. I have a nice pair of trim rings, door panels that accept them, but no clips...need 10 per door, 20 total. Not found at the usual sources so far - Macs, DC, LMC, Restoration Specialists, etc. Thanks.

You’re lucky to have door locks  I just have holes in my doors. Would be very thankful if someone could post an image of the linkage of door lock to latch...source for clip ends or rod parts a bonus!

Thanks, but I don’t need a regulator, latch mechanism, or the lock knob itself (just bought two NOS). Trying to locate the threaded steel rod, and then figure out the attachment of the rod to the latch...looks like the same attachment as the door handle, to a different part of the latch, also on a steel rod. All I have for reference is a badly bent rod and knob, which I found hanging loose in one of my doors.
