Ranger vs sport custom

Post by Lone Ranger »

Hey everybody I have a truck box with the sport custom emblems on it(5 holes) and I'm putting it on a truck with a ranger grill. Does anyone know if the ranger emblem(3 holes) will line up with the existing holes in the box? I hate to drill more holes. I thought about just putting the sport custom emblems back on it cause it's super easy and I have them. I don't think anybody besides you guys would even know they were the wrong ones. I could always switch to the right emblems down the road. Any ideas ?

Well it's 1:30 am and I'm tired so my measuring maybe be off a bit, but I measured my 67 Ranger shortbox box emblem from the CENTER of the rearmost mounting nut, forward towards the cab and this is roughly what I got, if that helps you any?

Center of rear nut to center of middle nut 4 1/2 inches

Center of rear nut to center of front nut 9 inches

If I remember right they are different. You will have to fill some holes and make other new ones. 67-69 Ranger is also different than 70-72 Ranger I think.
