1979 F-150 Fresh air register duct

Post by Joe_B »

I had the glove box out and looked at the duct hoses going to the dash registers and they are shot.

They appear to be rectangular. I can't find anyplace that sells that shaped duct.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you,
Joel

From what I can search, you're pretty much out of luck as far as aftermarket replacement goes. However, this place sells all types and sizes of flexible ducting. You might be able to take a round hose and modify or adapt the ends to fit the rectangular registers? https://ducting.com/collections/automotive-hose?page=2 For my factory AC, I used some PVC pipe fitting that just happened to fit the hole nicely and had a 2" end that I could attach a flexible vacuum hose to for ductwork. Got it all at Home Depot for just a few bucks. Might also want to check out the woodworking dust collection equipment. This place has flexible hose, small and large, and rectangular to round adapters. Might find something that will work. https://www.woodcraft.com/categories/bl ... s-fittings For registers, I bought some cheap generic vents from Summit Racing and modified them and the front panel to work. Necessity is the mother of invention!
