1967 window regulator

Post by stang1986gt »

The drivers side window regulator on my 67 has a stripped gear. It's not the handle but where the gear is inside the regulator. Has anyone had any luck repairing one of these? I've read that they don't make these in the aftermarket for he 67 but Mac's auto lists one although they do not appear to be in stock yet. If not, does anyone have any leads on any laying around or a NOS unit? I also see that Dennis Carpenter has them but I thought they were only for the Mustang. Will this work? http://dennis-carpenter.com/m/product.a ... -8123201-A

They don't look very user-serviceable to me, but the ones I have replaced in modern cars come as rebuilt units with a core charge, so perhaps there is a way.

The Dennis Carpenter unit is listed as being for the 1967 trucks, and the part number checks out, so that looks like the one for you.

The difference between the 67 regulator and the one for 68-72 trucks is explained in the following thread.

Well if the length of the stem for the handle is all that's different (per the provided topic) then I'll have to check my dad's part stash and see if he has any. Also there's a swap meet this weekend so maybe I'll find one there.

Thanks all!
