64 f100 Steering Wheel

I need a new steering column but would like to keep my 3 spoke steering wheel. Can anyone tell if its interchangeable with 67-70 and 73-79? I know by cutting the nub on the 70-72 columns it will fit but not sure of the other 73-79 columns with fit.

Does anyone know?? and what king of fabrication if any will i have to do?

it will fit fine up to 1978 but not including 78. just grind off the shaft.

so your saying my 64 f100 steering wheel will not fit a 78 and 79 column. and i wish it was just that!

the 78 up steering column is bigger in diameter.

it will fit but it wont fit as ezernutt said. i twill be to small to match the turn signal collar. and will look funny. or look rigged up.

I guess 78-79 are out. Man and I wanted a tilt column. Oh well, I'd rather have the old look.
How will it fit on a 73-77? What kind of fabricating?

do the same mod as the 70-72 column. just grind off the top of the shaft. you will also have to wire in the turn signal switch. the plug is different.

I guess the search is on now for a 64-77 auto steering column.

eh, a 65 and 66 will work with bracket mods, a 64 will not. totally different animal. i think the 67 has a different bracket too, but not for certain.
