2008 F250 Seat Swap

Post by jengle »

I picked up a new F250 seat on craigslist for a song. It isn't a direct bolt in like the seats up to '96 are, but it was still pretty easy.

I used the 2008 seat tracks and floor brackets. I switched the brackets left to right. The front of the brackets needed to be bent to a different angle to conform to the floor shape. 4 new holes drilled in the floor and 4 1/2" grade 8 bolts to mount it. Factory belts pass though the slots that are stitched into the seat.

Next on the list are shoulder harness seat belts.

My truck has a factory under-bed tank and never had the in-cab tank (no hole for tank filler in the side of the cab). I'm not sure how this seat would work with an in-cab tank.

Wow that looks like it was made to be in there. I really like the color combo on your truck as well.

very nice, and I bet being a 2008 seat, it doesn't have an old stinky butt smell, like some of the older replacement seats do

You are right! I walked out and got in it after it sat in the sun with the windows shut a while and it didn't have that 'old shoe' smell that it always did before. Oddly, it now has new car smell....

Looks great in there. Anything beats a factory low back bench seat.

so what seats are direct bolt in? i was looking into changing my bench out but didnt really want to go with buckets. i was gonna try to find a front bench out of a 97ish f350, thats the truck my dad has and that front bench would be awesome since it has the fold down middle seat with a center console but i didnt know if it would fit.

thanks

If they're that easy to throw in, maybe a guy should be keeping an eye open for a King Ranch seat...
