for what transmission? floor shift or column shift? sounds like a floor shift being over 2 ft. long.

that would really be pretty easy to make a custom shifter for. you would want the original shifter. so it would go into the transmission. and then cut it off below the shifter boot. or get a larger shifter boot and cut it up higher. then attach your custom rod to the stub of the original shifter with a collar and bolts through both pieces. you just have to decide on your design.

a friend of mine lengthened his original one. it looks real cool but he can't hit a gear with it to save his life. i guess he will eventually get used to it but i laughed a bunch when he first started driving with it.

Very cool truck! 8)

I have a Lokar on mine but it's a C6. Not sure if you wanted something like a Lokar or Gennie or if you wanted something totally custom. For a manual, the sky is the limit and like fordman says, you can make just about anything you want and just attach it to the existing base.

Here's a pic of mine before and after carpet. I still want to get a knob for it with a little more attitude.

I thought the one posted somewhere on this site with a old glass door knob for a shifter knob was cool as heck.

I have a dummy grenade I'm going to use for a shifter knob. Or maybe I'll use a live one with a quick disconnect then I can toss it at the guy that is tailgating me!
How's that for "road rage"

Has anyone ever shortened a shifter? If so how does it work? I would think you would get a shorter throw?
