no, not hard.wish i was 17 again, then i could lift all that heavy stuff myself .
if you are by yourself you can park the 2 trucks side by side and slide the cab and bed from one to the other on some 4x4s once its loose.
thats how i did this one because my towtruck is not done yet.
if you have some cash to burn you might call up a towing company and see if they can lift the cab off the one frame onto the other.i did a few for people for $50.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

That's a good idea about using a tow company. If you've got the tools and you're not afraid to tear something apart, learn from your mistakes and have the dedication to see the job through to it's finish age doesn't matter.

The 4x4's use a steeper drivetrain angle than 2wd trucks. Makes the rear driveline angles less severe with the truck sitting much higher than a 2wd. The 4x4 core support has wings on either side that mount the radiator at the same angle as the engine. 2wd is appx. 3 degrees, 4x4 is appx. 5 to 5.5 degrees.

I have no problem taking something apart or nothing. I got all the tools and time of the world. I just don't like getting into uncharted territories. By the way, I have no idea what you are talking about. So, I can't use my old stuff?

When you get the opportunity, look closely at a 2wd 67-79 core support and closely at a 67-79 4x4 core support. They are quite diferent where the radiator mounts. The 2wd core support will work, it will get you by, it may work fantastically. If you wish to run a factory fan shroud, however, you need to get the 4x4 core support and radiator.

The core support thing is also a dead giveaway that a 4x4's been rebodied or wrecked in the front. The 4x4 version seams to be alot harder to come by than the 2wd one.

i will have to do that.the shroud is not a necessity here.i put the 65 f350 cab and front clip on the 72 250 4x4 frame, the front clip and rear cab holes lined up but i had to use the front mounts from the 65 and move them back on the frame. plenty of room for the radiator, had to trim the inner fender for the lower steering joint and box.

I did it and love it!
the holes you have to drill for the rear cab mounts are already dimpled in from the factory.if I remember right the are the inner two. but besides that it was a bolt on swap.
I used the 2wd core support with the original radiator and the fan shroud from a f-100 4x4
