1969 F100 compatible rims/tires

Post by 69F110 »

I am sure this has been asked, yet doing every search I can think of does not answer my questions.

I am been blessed to have my 1969 back. (It was gone for five years). Now that I have it back, it has been sitting that entire time in the harsh Louisiana weather (extreme heat, high humidity, rain, etc.) and every tire is rotted. I am having a hard time locating 15 inch rims that fit and 235/75/R15's as well. Not being versed on tire and rim sizes- I figure I would call upon those of you who know these things.

Standard issue 1969 F100 LWB. 15" rims that 5x5.5 with a standard tire size of 235/75/R15.

Would a compatible 16" rim also be 5x5.5 pattern? If so, is there a vehicle out there that has that pattern? Perhaps a ford or dodge truck that has a 16 inch rim that will bolt right on with no adapters?

Or- is there another 15 inch tire that I can put on a 15 inch 5x5.5 rim that will work? Obviously not every 15 inch tire will fit- am I correct in thinking that? I do have enough old 15 inch rims that I can clean up and plasti-dip to look half way decent. I just do not know what other sizes would fit...I am thinking that 265/75/R15 would fit on the rim and work, but have no prior experience or knowledge to know if that is correct.

Well, there it is. If you know, I thank you in advance for your time and attention to these questions.

Wheels from half-ton Econolines should fit the bill... both 15- and 16- inch varieties.

If you are looking for OEM wheels, any F-150 or Bronco wheels up until 1996 have same lug pattern. As HIO Silver mentioned E-150 wheels fit as well, but I don't know what year they changed.

Another option you could go with like I did is this.......

https://www.wheelvintiques.com/o-e-chev ... inish.html

They look just like stock rims and come in different widths - I went with 15X8's with 31-10.5's on mine mostly to help drop the rpm's a little........I have a picture of them unmounted and mounted in my gallery......

As far as tires I went with these......

http://mastercrafttires.com/Tires/Light ... r-LTR.aspx

They make these in a 235/75-15 and I have had pretty good luck with them........don't know if they sell Master craft down your way though..... :?
