76 F250 Camper Special

Post by Joshgt87 »

Hello everyone first time post! I've been into cars and trucks for years turning wrenches and modifying them. I just picked up a 76 camper special that I'm wanting to turn into tow rig. I love the truck already and haven't even heard it run. I had a 79 when I was 16. Ive got a ton of questions but I'll leave this first one here in the suspension section. I'm planning to lower it with I beams and shackle kit from airbagit.com. It's currently sitting on 235/85/16 tires and I'm wondering what size tires would let it tuck in the fenders just slightly? I've looked and looked for pictures of an f250 lowered but haven had much luck. I talked to a guy at airbagit and he said I may have to use bags in the rear as well depending on how much I'm gonna tow. For the most part I'd be towing a 5000lb camper. I think this truck will be a awesome option over the boring new trucks you see at the camp grounds! Thanks guys!

Finally figured out how to post a pic of it. After I cleaned it up a bit. I may start a build thread as well.

I did pull a tape measure on it today and it looks like with these tires and "if" it actually drops 3" front 4" rear it would be tucked ever so slightly. That would be perfect.
