wheel offset

Post by jimmy828 »

Soon i will be purchasing the wheels for my 69 with 74 front disc. I'm having trouble trying to figure out the offset i will need. I believe the 4.25 back spacing will be ok. I think i know how the offset comes into play but not sure what i need. Have found subjects on backspacing but no info on offset on the site. Got my eyes on this set--- https://www.summitracing.com/parts/crr- ... /overview/. Will appreciate any feedback.

Typically it's half the width. Those will work.

Based on my analysis, the optimal size for the rear is 15x9 with 4.5 inches of backspacing wearing 275/60 tires.

Gonna stagger tire sizes? 235/60 or 225/70 on 15x7 wheels look right... 3.75 or 4.0 BS is acceptable.

Thanks for your reply HIO. I will be using 8'' wide wheels on all corners. Just want to be able to rotate when needed. Thinking of using 235/75 tires. Will the 235 be wide enough for the wheels. Sort of looking for that straight up look on sidewall. Not leaning in or out from wheel if that makes sense.
