1970 front axle

I have a 1970 f-250,not a 4-wheel drive, i stopped by the parts store to ask about replacing the tie rod ends & shocks they told me they need to know the front axle rating if it was 3000 or 3500 pound axles where do i find ,that info for them all i have is the twin I beam in the front

Go look at the 1970 factory literature (linked above in the toolbar) and go to page 16. Yes, the front does have a weight rating even in 2WD.

To add to above won't the VIN plate on the door also have it listed? I know the rear axle code and GVW is listed there: :hmm:

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!
