cv brake swap

Post by sledman3064 »

I've done the crown vic swap on my 68 f100. I want to upgrade the brakes , I've seen guys use the gt 500 rotors and vette calipers. so my question is what year of mustang rotors and what year of vette for the calipers. also who makes the adapter bracket for the caliper. thanks

So I have all the parts for this conversion but have not done it to date.

97-04 Corvette C5 calipers
07-12 Mustang GT500 rotors

Brackets are made by Jerry over on http://www.mercurymarauder.net and he goes by lji372. When I bought my brackets a few months back via PayPal it was $165 as friends and family or $170 as purchased item. They are anodized black and come with mounting hardware. If you need his email address private message me and I will send that to you.

Thread on how this whole idea came about is here: https://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/ ... hp?t=94024

I would also mention that you should consider the SS braided brake lines from the calipers back to the hard lines on the truck which are from Todd over at TCE. They run $88 for the set and you can get them here:

http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com/marauder/kits-17/

At the top of the page there is a grey box with info in it an one of the items mentioned is the "Zack Kits: Corvette front caliper". Just below that you will find another box with a drop down menu. Select the "Zack Front only kit $88.00 USD". This kit comes with all the mounting hardware including the brackets that go to the frame.

Hope this helps.
