Some of our trucks did come with front swaybars, but probably not what you're used to seeing. They fit between the radius arms:

The '73-up trucks did come with the convential swaybar style. Look for them on some F250s and almost all F350s. Here's the setup I got from an F350:

Here's a picture of a van setup, but it shows you how the bracket is mounted:

....and here's an exploded-view schematic of the swaybar setup:

I thought the I beams where a form of Anti sway device. Wouldn't new busshing once every Year or two keep it from swaying or are we looking for the side to side sway cuased by cornering?

The I-beams are the axles, and have no anti-sway function. As you mentioned, when you take a fast corner and scrape the door handles or load up a large cab-over camper and start hitting some sidewinds, that's when you need a good anti-sway bar.

Well, the pics explain why you sometimes can't use headers & sway bars.

Right....the style which go between the radius arms is the style referred to in the header catalogs when they say "...will not fit with factory swaybar". The front-mounted style will work just fine with headers though.

The FRONT swaybar from the later F250s will work. However, the later 2WD trucks have a rear frame section that is 4" wider, so their swaybars won't fit....although the factory highboys up through '77 still have our narrower framerail spacing, so those swaybars should work just fine.

Addco also has a front swaybar for our truck. I ordered one for around $140 and it bolted on in the front very easily. Very good mod for the cost. Really made a difference. I think it was addco #113
I have never seen the one that goes between the radius arms. I wonder how well they worked?

:hmm: well If you want a front sway bar try looking under a 74 up Camper Special almost every one of these trucks had one. I mounted one in my truck and It didn't do much at all. and I have seen two stiles one mount in front (of I beams) that works ok and one mounted in back (on the radios arms) thats junk and not recommended.
I found the back axle one is more affective then you are takeing that hard corner with that over hight load.
WHAT ?

At the bottom of the post Keith has up above (the one with all the pictures) is a link to the diagram for the sway bar. Click that and print it out. 8)
