Postby M-100 » Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:09 pm

I have a 71 f250 with drums on the front. I want disc instead. I have a 78 E250 van will the i beams and other related parts work. They look very similar but i may be missing something.

I'm gonna go "out on a limb" here and say it will work, (based on the frames being one and the same for the "F" and "E" series). I would however like to hear others here input on this. And don't rule out going over to the Econoline forums and asking the same question.
Here is the I-Beam comparison chart that also has Ford OEM part numbers stamped on the beams so it you can find them on the E-series beams you have it might prove to be the 100% answer your looking for:

I'm "on the fence" about another bump right now / still looking at them / but not real sure if I'm ready for it or not (until I get moved). :(

The frame are not the same for the "F" and "E" series. If you try and use the "I" beams from a van the geometry is all messed up.

Funny thing you say that because I owned a 1979 E-350 Pathfinder 4 X 4 conversion van. My van had the same HD-44 front axle under it used in the F-series trucks in the late 70's.

So what or where exactly is the difference between the E-series and the F-series frame(s) if you'd could be more specific please? :hmm:
