Four link kits

Post by hotrod ford »

Are there any 4 link kits that can bolt up instead of needing welding? If so, who make them and can we use them on a Bump?

Haven't seen one that doesn't get welded to rear. But been thinking to make something for a long time that could be bolted in, and then brought somewhere to be welded. (for those that don't weld)..

I think this could be pretty easily be adapted

I have been looking at this one. It says it is good up to a 60' F100. What I have found out is the both the 60 and my 71 frame are 34" wide from left to right. This tells me that I may have to modify my frame of some sort or another, but most likely not by much.

Here is one that is made for a c10 but it looks like it will work on our trucks. It's the one with the least welding needed.

marz68, what do you think u-bolts to the rear? I'd think at some point if there's to much power it's going to rotate the housing..

I think that with the factory guide pin it should be fine. Maybe just check the ubolts for tightness every once in a while.

For the housing to rotate you're first gonna need to find traction. That's pretty hard to do with these trucks.
But, if I were going to do a 4-link, it would be a welded 4-link.
