Converting Rear Gearing in Dana 60?

Post by colnago »

All,

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I have a 2WD F250 with the 4.10 gearing. I'd like to convert it to 3.54. I've looked for other axles to swap in, but they are few and far between. So, the other option is to convert this one. Do I just need new ring and pinion gears, or would there be more than that? Like many of us, I don't have much time, but I have more time than money (and probably most of the tools).

Usually, if one is taking a center section that far apart they opt for new bearings and seals. And replace any broken or worn parts that were noticed on tear down.
