4 speed interchange

Will a 4 speed that was on an fe work on a small block by simply changing the bell house ? And will the 3 speed bell work on the 4 speed?

IIRC threr is a difference in input shaft length between the small block and the big block trans's

I believe it will work if the depth of the bell housing is the same. Make sure you check that the pilot bearing is the correct size.
