ring & pinions
Will the same ring & pinion fit both the front & rear differentials on my '70 f=100 4x4? To change the ratio both ends need the same ratio--do they use the same parts?

probably not. but i dont know for sure. the F100 probably has a 9 inch in the rear and a dana 44 in front. unless you got lucky and it has both a d44 in frotn and back. then i am sure the ring and pinion will interchange.

I recently ordered gears for my highboy 44 front/60 rear and Summit listed a different part # for front and rear for both.So it seems that front and rear will not interchange

Actually The Frt and Rear ratio's can be off a bit , there is some discussion as to Why this is, but Ford can and will put a totally different ratio in the Frt,

but different parts for sure, It is slight like 3.50 in the rear and 3.53 in Frt, or something like that
