Will be converting over to a b&m shifter while the tranny is out. what all do i need to do to remove the linkage from the steering column so i can get rid of the shifter lever?

the easiest way is to simply remove the shifter lever and leave the guts there...

dont mess with the column you dotn need to. just disconnect the rod that goes between the column and the transmission. the arm or arms on the column wont hurt anything by just sitting there doing nothing.

but, i don't want them there. i don't need a column lever if i have a floor lever.

i see. you need to take the roll pin and drive it out and pull the shifter out of the housing. the stub will still be there but thats all. there is alos a small sprign you might want to fish out of it too.  or if you can find a new floor shift collar you could just replace the whole collar.
