bent steel insert from water pump...

Post by Carb »

In my zeal to pop my distributor out I inadvertently put pressure on a steel insert going from the top of my water pump into the engine (the bent piece is on the engine side.Image

any advice on how to remove it? its pretty crumbly. Thanks?

Small chisel, cut along the side of it and collapse it upon itself, then pull it out with dykes.... oops, I meant diagonal cutting pliers. :D

I just got a replacement off of the bay. But I concur. Chisel to create a fold, then pliers or Chan-L-Locks to crimp and pull it.

Screw a bolt in of the appropriate size

Grab on to the bolt with a pair of vise grips

take a hammer and hit the vice grips

Knocking the nipple out
