Opinion: Is 600cfm Holley too Big 4 a Stock 302 F100

 I have read several articles that states 467cfm+/- is recommended for a stock 302. Any size bigger can be detrimental to performance and gas mileage!!!

According to the formula I learned years ago, an untouched 302 revving to 6000 (optimistic) with a volumetric efficiency of 90% (very optimistic) would need 471 cfm. That said, I've never met anyone that seriously pays attention to that equation. 600cfm should be okay for a stock motor, especially if you have a vacuum secondary carb - it’s pretty hard to over-carb an engine with controlled secondaries.

Yep, which one? A vacuum secondary will work fine. Once you hop it up you can drill out the orifice port to the vacuum can and it'll pull the secondaries in faster.
