302 Throttle linkage clips

Post by Subzero »

In the months my engine way torn apart I've misplaced or broke a few things during the engine refreshing. One of which happened to be the throttle linkage retaining clip. I've searched around at junkyards but none had anything old enough with a linkage instead of a cable. Right now I have a metal wire wrapped around to hold the linkage to the carb. I'd really like to find one of these clips, and I'm also missing the PVC crankcase elbow on the passenger side valve cover. Does anyone know where I can get a reproduction or used original of these parts?

Yeah.. it sucks sometimes trying to find weird little things like that. Try a 'mom and pop' type auto repair shop. You might find a grizzled, old mechanic with a cigar box full of odds n ends like that. If you rub his belly afterward, he might even let you have them for free.

I ordered some online, if they are the same thing you are looking for, only to find them in sets at the local parts store. If they are the same thing, check this link and run to the local store. My truck had piano and other wires holding mine together. As I looked through an old tin Ford bulb and fuse box the PO had in the glove box, he had several sitting in with the lot of bulbs and fuses.

Happy hunting!

The link for autozone looks like them if they're the correct size. I was searching all day yesterday and couldn't find anything. And for $5 I'll call that sold  . Now I just need the crankcase intake for the valve cover elbow. At one point it connected to the air filter housing.

Auto Zone! They bailed me out when I lost one of those clips a few years ago. I keep a couple of extras in the glove box now.
