5.0 L question.

Post by greenmachine72 »

I've got a complete stock 1972 ford f100 with a 302 in it. I went to the scrap yard and bought a 5.0L 302 out of an 89(ish) Mustang, with headers. What can I do to this engine (and what parts you recommend) to get about 350-400 hp out of it if possible? It's my daily driver, but I want something with a little more go so I can take it to the drags once or twice a year, and still have fun with it. :)

Are you going to run the engine with the EFI induction or are you putting a carburetor on it?

...An article dealing with a limited amount of component changes (heads, carburetor, rocker arms and header change only) to a '91 5.0L EFI engine that resulted in over 400 hp, @ 6,200 RPMs, on the dyno.
