The carb is still at my friend's garage. When I get it back, I'll take some pictures.

Right now, I don't like the idea of a carb only having one screw and I am thinking of replacing it somehow.

Trying to decide whether to go with a good used, a rebuild-able one or a brand new rebuilt one.

I'm going to check at my local Ford junk yard later this week, but in the meantime, I'm going to keep an eye out for a good used one. Will be running an ad in the Wanted section.

Thanks

I have one of the Autolite 2100 manual choke carbs that came stock on '69 390's. It has two idle mixture screws. I also have two Autolite 2100's with automatic chokes and an Autolite 2150. All of them have 2 screws. Is it possible that the other screw has been broken off flush with the carburetor body?

Update on Carburetor:

Nitekruizer called it right. We looked extra close and sure enough we found the adjuster screw that was broken off. The way it looked we still weren't real sure, till we could feel the tip of the needle inside the barrel. We can tell that it broke a long time ago and it sure is stuck in there. There is only a little metal "dot" that is exposed on the outside where it broke off. Needle nose or small vise grips ain't getting it. We have it soaking in PB Blaster. Might have to drill it out, although we know that might ruin the carb, but the carb is no good the way it is anyway.

Whoa, Im sitting here trying to think of scenarios of mechanics doing something that would result in a broken screw head? dropped then put onto truck? :hmm:
