Stock 360 Carb Question
I've owned my "71 since 1978 (59K miles currently) & have had a carb issue for a number of years. When I turn off the engine after warmed up & want to start it again a few minutes later, I need to floor the accelerator & crank the engine for about 20 seconds before it will start...Seems like it's flooded. This is especially true when the weather is hot. On the other hand, during cold starts, especially if I haven't started it for awhile, I need to pump the accelerator a lot before the engine will fire. Does this sound like a bad carb accelerator pump?

Re: Stock 360 Carb Question
Or both of those things together. I find that so many of these trucks are not running enough initial timing, and that can have a similar effect. Advance it a little and see if it helps.

Re: Stock 360 Carb Question
You have a bad needle valve and float adjustment. After you shut the engine down, the fuel continues to flow into the bowl and spills over into the venturi. Accellerator pump only comes into play when you move the throttle.

I'll just throw my in here also, a bad power valve will leak fuel and cause that also especially on a 2100 carb.
