New guy...help me identify engine part

Post by JaredAG »

Hey guys, first time to this forum. Having fun reading up on some stuff. Long story short, I was given a 70 f100 and with a little work she's running now. I don't know much at all about the mechanics of a vehicle and am wondering what exactly this broken up jug looking thing is under my hood. Any help is appreciated!

:wel: from New Mexico.

I noticed in your pic that your v-belt on the AC compressor is inside out/has rolled over. The "ribs" should go on the inside of the run.

I'm not sure the belt is rolled over, it looks like one of dayco those top cog belts...

I recently got a new windshield washer tank from LMC. My old one was in bad shape, kinda like yours.

I've got the Dayco Top Cog belts on mine. All three belts.

If it were rolled over, it wouldn't be flat across the outer edge of the pulley.

That's where the blinker fluid goes. You need to replace it and fill it up so your blinkers will function properly.
