What is this thingy doodad, and where does it go?

fuel filter thing? im not sure on this one need something to compare the size to.

holds the turn signal flasher? behind the dash
I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.

i wonder if i should take some of these types of pictures since in tearing 2 of these apart at a time

That is not correct.

It does NOT hold the TURN signal flasher to the dash.

It holds the EMERGENCY flasher to the dash.

The turn signal flasher plugs into the instrument cluster.

There are two flashers behind the dash, not one.

But gunz on my 67 the turn signal flasher doesnt plug into the cluster.

It also uses one of these style clips.

Those clips are also used for holding compact fluorescent lights in aquariums.
