New forum mod: All posts are numbered & linked

I just made another forum mod this evening, one that I've really been wanting to do for some time. You know how you'd sometimes like to refer someone to a specific post in a thread, but didn't really have a way of doing that? I mean, I guess you could always start at the beginning of each thread and count down to the post you wanted to refer to, but that would really get old if the thread spanned multiple pages....and the person would also have to count from the beginning.

Well, I've incorporated a much easier way. You'll now notice that each post in each thread is numbered, starting with #1 for the first post. Those numbers are a link to a javascript popup. Basically, you just have to click on the number to make this box pop up:



...and then right-click and choose 'Copy' to get a link to a specific post in a thread. Then when you paste that link in another area of the forum, the person clicking the link will be taken directly to that post, without having to do any searching or post counting.

Now is there a way to reuse an existing photo attachment from a old post into a new post?

Sure....just right-click on an image and copy the URL, and then just paste that into your new post. Of course, you still gotta find the original attachment. Hopefully you remember whose post it was and have a rough idea of the date, and then it'll be easy to sort the attachments when viewing the attachments slideshow.
