Thank you. I'll keep them coming. :D

Another big day for Floyd. I was able to get the cab cross member and rear wall notched and the filler panels welded in.

From there, I made two plates with welded nuts to secure the cab front. Welded those in place and painted them up... oh, and yeah, the cab is on the chassis!!!

Next will be getting the rear cab support built and welded into the frame. As of right now, I have 14 hours invested.

Spent a little time working on the truck today. Built the rear cab support, it is 1.5"x 3"x .125" wall tubing. Made sure to weld sleeves in where the bolts will pass through to avoid crushing it. Welded it in place and then sprayed some under body coating to protect everything. My order from SummitRacing arrived with the joint for the steering, so I was able to hook the steering up and check that off the list! Finished the afternoon off by installing the cable operated throttle body and a 6G 140 amp alternator for a 98-2002 CrownVic (does not require the ECU to work). The cab will need to come off one more time to install the Lokar shifter, after that it can go into place for good and I can start on mounting the front clip!

I'm up to 17 total hours invested.

yep! Saw them at the salvage yard, such an odd place to find them... left with $125 in my pocket for them (paid for the new throttle body, alternator, and a few other parts with that cash! )

Looks good on the rear crossmember one way to not have to worry about the cab corners.

Thanks! I have found that when it comes to projects like this, research and planning ahead save tons of time during "production" which really moves things along.

Floyd Update: Last night after work the shifter was waiting for me, seemed predestined that I should install it on the 4R75E. Lifted that cab and set to work... took some time as I had to tap a couple of the holes in the bracket (they were missed at the factory!) Then Once installed, I found that no matter how it is adjusted, it lacks throw to shift the transmission down into 1st. With the cab back on, I also found quite a bit of interference between shifter and cab floor. I went ahead and ordered the Lokar bell-crank kit to eliminate this issue. Shot an email off to Lokar tech support seeking guidance on why it will not drop into 1st. I suspect the side detent plate may be incorrect for my transmission. On the upside, I love the look, exactly what I was after, a semi-stock look that makes a person look close to see what is different. Up to 19.5 hours invested!

Finally had a day off to work on project Floyd. The crank bell kit arrived for the shifter, it shifts much easier. I'll have to see if it hits all the gears once its running. From the shifter I moved to brakes. Mounted the master cylinder and modified the brake pedal to work with it. I also routed the park brake cable, but it needs some adjustment to function properly.

With the brakes squared away, I started back into body panels. Front fenders are mounted! I'll have to pull the outer fenders off to work on getting the core support mounted next... I'm up to 25 hours invested.

Another busy day for Project Floyd! Managed to get the core support mounted. This required some significant modification of the frame rails and the core support with a side of welding. All said and done, looks and fits well!

YoungFordKid came by this evening and we started on wiring. While he worked on the main harness, I focused on the engine and transmission harness. I'll need to order a few sensors for the engine, but that part is about done...

the chassis wiring still has a little way to go!

33 hours total invested so far into the build!
